MOBILE	ICHIHARA

Encouraging local people to get to know other citizens of the world will lead to the enrichment of our culture . A sister city relationship with Mobile,Alabama, created to commemorate 30 years of city operation,has cultivated friendly relations between the two cities.

The two cities through their respective governments have formalized this relationship on the 10th of November in 1993 . Since then ,Ichihara has been developing international activities through students exchanges.Exchanges with foreign residents are good opportunities to widen our horizons.

THE CITY OF MOBILE :
Mobile is a coastal city located at the southernmost end of the state of Alabama , where the mouth of the Mobile River pours into the Gulf of Mexico. It is the second largest city in Alabama and is located on the same latitude as Tanegashima Island . Mobile enjoys a mild climate with an annual average temperature of 20 ℃. (15 ℃ in Ichihara) While keeping alive its history , starting out as a French settlement at the beginning of the eighteenth century , Mobile is moving toward the future.Both Mobile and Ichihara have much in common.
